Review

If you think that the Windows Explorer is not the best way to work with folders and files, and you are searching for a new alternative, then Double Commander could be one good option to choose. This small yet powerful application duplicates its usefulness thanks to its two-panel interface. The interface will probably remind you of the famous "Norton Commander" for DOS, very popular in the 90s.

But Double Commander is not as simple as you may think. In this application you will find many useful tools that will help you perform a lot of operations with files and folders, which are not usually possible with the default Windows Explorer. For example, there's a rename tool that will easily let you rename a lot of files and folders with just a couple of clicks. Moreover, if you desire to pack or unpack files, you can do it easily thanks to the packer tool, which is capable of working with the following extensions, zip, tar, gz, and tgz. And if you need to edit a file, there's an internal text editor with syntax highlighting that will let you do it easily and fast.

To sum up, Double Commander is a free alternative full of powerful tools that will let you work with files and folders more efficiently.
